ABOUT EMBROIDERY

31 July, 2020

Embroidery is the real distinctive sign of Mexican textiles and was originally created by the indigenous women. These multicolored embroideries tell mythical stories mixing a certain vision of the cosmos and scenes of everyday life. Colors, shapes and textures give meaning to the symbolic life of representations: a place, a season, a feeling. This precolombine textile tradition, works as an archive of memory, perpetuating history on textiles.

Just like Mexican Embroidery, I immortalize my feelings and thoughts. In each thread, empowerment and female cultural heritage are woven, paying homage to the women who shaped our world.
